Mobile Clarification

For most projects, plan on roughly two weeks from paperwork to equipment arrival: about a week to finalize scope and logistics for the mobile system, then about a week for shipping of mobile trailers or container/skid equipment. On site, setup is typically hours to a few days – connect power, raw water feed, discharge and waste/backwash lines – then our team commissions the control system, verifies chemical pretreatment (coagulation/flocculation), and brings the equipment fully online. Many sites begin producing treated water – often clear water – within hours of arrival, pending local testing.

When urgency demands, we can accelerate. Mobile water treatment packages can be mobilized in days depending on fit and access, and modular trains scale quickly – adding a single trailer or additional skids as flows change – while maintaining a small footprint. The result is rapid deployment to operation with minimal disruption.

Our mobile clarification units tackle a wide range of water and wastewater streams in both municipal and industrial settings. Typical applications include municipal drinking water during emergency repairs and maintenance bypasses; industrial wastewater from food & beverage, metals & steel, pulp & paper, and chemical processes; and mining process water such as tailings decant, pit dewatering, and contact water. These systems target suspended solids, turbidity, color, and co-precipitated metals as part of an overall wastewater treatment or water treatment plan.

Deployed as portable clarifiers (including ballasted flocculation or DAF), they can pair coagulation/flocculation with filtration to produce clarified water for reuse or compliant discharge. Integrated sludge hoppers and pumps simplify sludge removal, while modular trains scale to match changing flows – keeping water moving and operations compliant without long lead times.

For temporary projects we offer various mobile clarification options, including mobile ballasted flocculation (ideal for rapid turbidity reduction in raw water, process water, and wastewater) and mobile dissolved air flotation (DAF) (best when algae, fats/oils/grease, or light, hard-to-settle solids are present). These systems arrive as compact, factory-tested packages on a single trailer – with chemical pretreatment (coagulation/flocculation), pumps, and a unified control system to speed setup and operation while maintaining a small footprint.

We can pair these clarifiers with downstream filtration (e.g., multimedia filters) to meet specific water treatment or wastewater treatment targets. The result is reliable clarified water for reuse or discharge and smooth tie-ins to the rest of your mobile water treatment train – delivering stable, compliant treated water fast.

Our mobile trains couple front-end chemistry (coagulation/flocculation) with high-rate clarification to separate solids efficiently, then manage the waste stream with integrated sludge removal features. The ballasted floc clarifier uses pumps to remove solids from the hopper. The sludge line offers up to 10 feet of head to send solids to the customers containment or sump.

The DAF utilizes skimmers/collectors, and gravity to move concentrated slurry to totes, roll-offs, or onsite dewatering. WesTech offers a DAF with an auger in the bottom to facilitate removing heavy solids in applications that have solids that do not leave with the float.

Yes. Our mobile clarification units are designed to tie into existing water treatment infrastructure with minimal disruption. We connect at logical points – raw water intake, pretreatment, intermediate filtration, or final polishing – so the mobile water treatment system can run in parallel with your basins and filters or provide a temporary bypass during maintenance. Standard hose/pipe connections and clear P&IDs speed integration, while our team aligns flows, chemical feeds, and instrumentation to match your site conditions and keep plant operation on line.

Controls are just as straightforward. Each mobile system ships with a unified control system that can operate standalone or exchange signals with your plant PLC/SCADA for start/stop, alarms, and flow pacing.

When higher purity is required, we can add membrane polishing – such as modular reverse osmosis skids – downstream of clarification to deliver a cohesive mobile water solution that produces compliant, reliable treatment performance within your existing footprint.

Think of clarification as bulk solids removal and filtration as fine polishing. Our mobile filtration options – multimedia filters, pressure or disc filters, and ultrafiltration – tighten effluent quality for drinking water pretreatment, cooling-tower makeup, and recycled process water. These portable units provide a small footprint and fast setup, often as a single trailer, to keep water treatment performance on spec with minimal disruption.
